In 1973, I received a single cranial session that opened my consciousness into the infinite consciousness of I AM for 30 days. That event ignited my life-long osteopathic cranial study and training with Dr. Sutherland's student, the osteopath Dr. M. B. De Jarnette.
In his final years 1945-1954, Dr. Sutherland taught a radical form of touch 'to realize I AM.' This touch resembles laying on of hands which all spiritual traditions offered for thousands of years as a sacred body rite. Dr. Andrew Taylor Still himself, the founder of osteopathy, practiced laying on of hands, which likely influenced Sutherland to preserve the spiritual foundations of cranial osteopathy.
Modern medicine quashed the life out of the healing arts and removed the sacred component from touch by declaring that the body is a machine that is controlled by the nervous system. Sacred touch got reduced to a lifeless treatment system.
Fear And Desire: Two Forms of Efference Taught In Biodynamic Schools Outside Osteopathy
Unfortunately, outside of the nine-year biodynamic cranial osteopathy training, the two types of non-osteopath schools offer "biodynamic" trainings. One school is based on fear: Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST), which naively continues the medical insult by teaching medical principles in the name of biodynamics. On the other hand, the Biodynamic Cranial Approach (BCA) teachings are based on desire, which leaves students inquiring and clinging to the tides, or dissociated in stillness (Master Class 3 on Practitioner Bypass Covers Fear and Desire in detail).
BCST fixates on the role that the nervous system plays in healing the body. However, the nervous system does not heal, it only reacts to stress, using the fight, flight, or freeze response. When one symptom goes away, which is declared by practitioners to be a healing, the nervous system replaces that symptom with another deeper, more insidious and chronic symptom. Anyone who has practiced functional cranial work, homeopathy, or acupuncture appreciates this phenomenon as a fact.
I spent 52 years of study, practice, teaching, and writing to articulate and evolve Dr. Sutherland's precious osteopathic biodynamic cranial impulse. Here is what my half-century experience in cranial exploration has revealed about the two types of non-osteopath biodynamic cranial trainings.
A Biodynamic Cranial Approach (BCA) Training Limits The Evolution of Your Consciousness
Despite studying and appropriating my life's teachings, the BCA school efferently injects a pseudo-spiritual overlay of desire onto Sutherland's profound cranial osteopathic biodynamics. The form of this overlay of desire manifests in the classroom as fluff, in place of substance, which keeps BCA practitioners stuck in the ascending (hyperfeminine) tidal domains. The result is, there is no evolution of consciousness beyond I AM, and thus BCA practitioners find themselves unconsciously stuck in stillness or bypass.
BCA teachers encourage spiritual bypass by the use of exuberant, ecstatic, bliss-filled language that manipulates cranial seekers - as a marketing tactic - to lure students into BCA classes (Check their newsletter and website). The use of enticing words conceal the fact that the Biodynamic Cranial Approach training will get practitioners stuck in the ascending tides and mired in a hyperfeminine complex. The ascending biodynamic tides can lead to the realization of Dynamic Stillness at I AM, if we choose to surrender control by dropping into a Sacred Repose at I AM, which mimics death. Yet, BCA practitioner's are taught to cling to the ascending biodynamic tides by enquiry, and therefore, they get permanently stuck in the ascending domains of hyperfeminine consciousness. I have witnessed this spiritual bypass consistently for 15 years in the BCA graduates who took my Post-Graduate classes (I ceased teaching my Biodynamic Cranial Touch Mentor Courses in 2010). In fact, as mentioned, the BCA school founder appropriated my proprietary teachings, terms, and practices, yet, I was surprised at the degree to which BCA graduates are stuck in bypass in my post graduate classes. Seeing how stuck they are in various ascending states of dissociation is what inspired me in 2015 to create the descending current Master Classes.
When we are stuck in ascent, the body unconsciously recoils consciousness away from the potency to avoid an utter surrender into Dynamic Stillness. This Spiritual Bypass not only prevents consciousness from surrendering to Dynamic Stillness at I AM, it also stops consciousness from descending into the body to implode into the cells to engage our Grail Journey that resurrects our biography. The ego and Superego are terrified of descent because after consciousness implodes into the cells, our consciousness relaxes into a Sacred Repose and reunites with the Sacred Pulse of Love.
This second birth is akin to dying while alive, and we become utterly free of the ego and Superego's self-limits.
Subsequently, after realizing Pure Breath of Love, when we touch, recipient's enjoy contact with the Divine Feminine Power of Love.
The Divine Feminine Sacred Pulse Reveals that our Body is a Sacred Vessel of Love
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) Teaches Functional Medical Touch
By contrast, on the other end of the spectrum, BCST practitioners are taught an overlay of fear by which they apply dozens of efferent techniques while using the hands to feel for lesions, and manipulate the nervous system (NS) to increase or decrease the functions of the body. Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) practitioners resemble a car mechanic who adjusts the electronics (NS) to control the engine. The BCST curriculum provides no opportunity for its practitioners to utterly surrender consciousness to the neutral, the potency, or Dynamic Stillness. The curriculum, based on fear, explicitly prevents the second birth, and avoids an enfleshed union of body, consciousness, and love.
Anyone who would like to dispute these facts, please come forward and characterize your direct body-felt experiences of the potency, the neutral, the tidal domains, Dynamic Stillness, and Pure Breath of Love without using any "biodynamic" jargon: mutual experience has always been the common ground for conversations.
My Cranial Journey
After completing several hundred hours of cranial courses between 1973 and 1977, I founded a Cranial Study Group at my college where I founded the CRI (Cranial Research Institute) a study group for Sutherland-inspired cranial courses.
Four years later I began to teach self-care lay classes in Manhattan. By 1981, I was offering workshops at the 92nd Street Y, all the Whole Life Expos nationwide, and I wrote a column "Self-Care Corner" for the Whole Life Times Magazine for 3 years. I also founded with an MD the Whole Life Healing Center, one of the first integrative centers in the USA that offered a multidisciplinary approach to health. We offered holistic medicine, homeopathy, IV drips, supplements, acupuncture, chiropractic, cranial, self-care, massage, psychotherapy, nutrition, and cooking classes.
Meanwhile, I also took hands-on organ courses, which by the early 1990's, I had developed into a hands-on anointing that used enlivened Hauschka oils to harmonize the fourfold organ system. The anointment methods were based on Rhythmic Massage that was developed by Rudolf Steiner and Ita Wegman, MD. Rhythmic Massage was taught by Dr. Hauschka MD. In 1995, I was invited to present my original work at the Physician's Association of Anthroposophic Medicine Conference (PAAM) in Seattle. After 12 years of practicing anointment, it evolved into Sacred Body Rites.
Beginning in 1995, I taught my meditative principles and Stillness Touch practices in courses at the Pacific School of Homeopathy in San Francisco. The biodynamic tides began to emerge as states of consciousness in my awareness during sessions so I began to write down my experiences. This led to the founding of two training schools, Dynamic Stillness and Sacred Body Rites. Since then, I have trained dozens of teachers, and thousands of professional practitioners, lay people, and couples worldwide.
Beginning in 2026 I will limit my teaching Stillness Touch Legacy Master Classes, I will offer Private Intensives, write, and publish. I will concentrate classes in Basel (one time a year).
I live in Puerto Vallarta, MX with my spouse Julia Aquino, who translates and teaches all the Spanish courses in Mexico, Latin America, and Spain.
I plan for an upcoming Legacy Immersion Courses that will collect material from my 52 years of study from 1973 to 2025, and it will be the portal to a Legacy Practitioner & Teacher Training for those who desire to carry my work when I retire.
